Patrick Smith Wiki

Patrick Smith holds a 3rd degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do as well as a black belt in Hapkido, Kenpo Karate and Tang Soo Do. Smith has a kickboxing record of 66-8 with a notable upset victory over Andy Hug in K1. Smith lost by submission to Ken Shamrock in the first ever UFC. He would fair much better at UFC 2 making it all the way to finals where he would lose to Royce Gracie. He fought once more for the UFC at UFC 6 winning by submission but was unable to continue in the next round. He went on to fight for other promotions with an up and down career. Pat once fought in Brazil against UFC vet Fabio Gurgel in which he decided to tap after which a Gurgel fan interferred with Pat holding the ropes.  Pat also fought Marco Ruas after leaving the UFC and lost via hell hook. He most notable victories were over Eric Esch and Brad Imes.  Pat was rumored to make a return to the UFC in the early Zuffa era and he was set to fight Frank Mir.  The fight never materialized.
